I would like to go fishing at the mouth of the Brisbane River for the first time. Any suggestions or help in locations would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

most of the area around the mouth is now a security regulated area (see attached showing the red zone).

however the rock wall at Pinkenba can produce, and also try the chanel markers further out than the red zone

hi dave ,fish along the end wall out on the mouth of the river on the right hand side, work your way right along casting from about thirty metres out in to the wall, you will pick up bream squire flathead grinners cod and others.we use the power bait range in 3inch and4inch minnows ,squidgies work well also. pearl watermelon ,pumpkin seed and silver shad are good colorsalso keep your eyes peeled behind you the odd school of tune pop up and are good fun.cheers allan

It is a no go zone within 30 metres of wharves and 50m of vessels at all times. The rest of the regulated zone is only controlled in certain instances.

Good Luck
