200 mt from Charter Opperators # ....... BUSTARD.....
Rang the Mooloolaba Fisheries on the Spit today and they would be interested in the Charter Opperaters name that had a dissagreement over fishing within 200mt of them. i spoke to a female by the name of Jo that said NO SUCH RULE FOR ANCHORED OR DRIFT FISHING, and she asked around the office and the same response was given.
IF A TRAWLER IS IN THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTY THEN YOU MUST STAY A SAFE DISTANCE #but if he is anchored or drift fishing it will NOT apply.
Hope this helps, so next time this happens get the Boat Name & Number
and report it to the Fisheries I did ask if it was there durastiction and the answere was YES.
Sorry I have put it up here but I was unable to find the original post but no doubt it will get to the right persons involved.
