ive been invited to a fishing trip to swains and suffer from sea-sickness. i was just wondering whether anyone has experienced the swains and could tell me what the swells are like? apparently once you get there it is pretty calm.. is this right? would the swell there still make me sick? thanks

Depends on the weather , but pretty calm both times i was out there. You'll be too busy having a good time to notice. Take the pills before you get on the boat and youll be right

Het Luke,

on the way out she can get a little rolly...a metre or so when I went out a couple of years ago...a couple of blokes got pretty crook..so like Rando said, get the meds in early and keep them up...

take some crystallised ginger as well - helps settle the stomache, and see if you can pick up some sea bands, you should be bale to pick them up from ore chandlery outlets or your local tackle shop, they are elasticised bands that have a button that puts pressure on your wrist where you check pulse...its an acupressure point for motion sickness. You may as well cover the bases...My first mate is a regular beaut berely machine but the sea bands have helped her.

You'll have a ball...definitely worth the effort

Enjoy your trip

Cheers

Rhys

We went out to Swains in June this year and we were blest with a good ride out but the ride home was a little rough. Most guys were taking Kwells & a couple of guys had these braclets with a plastic bead which you postioned over a pressure point on your wrist and the guys swore by them. It is calm once your in behind a reef, one night it would have been blowin 40Knts and there was very little roll on the boat. What boat you heading out on ? As Rhys said it's well worth the trip out #;) this year was my first and we've booked again for August next year #:) only 9 months away now #:(
