I vaguely recall a post some time ago that suggested certain parts of the lower reaches of the Brisbane river were off limits to private boats.

Does anyone know what the rules are (if any) for fishing the river, and which areas should be avoided and which areas could be tried. Are then any websites that have this info (couldn't see anythin on the MSQ site).

I read the recent post about squire near the Pinkenba wall pre sunrise, but other advice would be gratefully read.

:)

Angus

G'day Angus

Unfortunately there are now sections of the Brisbane river where you are no longer allowed access to.

I believe that the "Port of Brisbane Corporation" control these areas.

I would give the Port of Brisbane Corporation a ring and they should be able to post you out a map of the restricted areas.

hi mate.i trawl the river and you can go anywhere except for within 50 metres of all wharves(i think).there are no fish reserves or anything like that.it may be a further distance from oil and gas boats 2.its a real pain in the bum,but its the way for all of us.

Thanks folks.

I'll give the Port a buzz.
