A $1600 bill will be sent to the Mackay man rescued on Sunday after he went missing on his JetSki 28km offshore.

That's a small part of the estimated $14 000 it cost to get the man home.

VMR spent 52 man hours finding the bloke.

The RACQ -CQ Rescue chopper headed out twice to locate the man.

Hold on a minute,

Did he have an EPIRB, if not charge him the $14K.

He should have no problem with that..he's lucky to be alive ::)

I agree with Garry! :o ;D ;)
Lucky to still be kicking about.
Maybe he'll have to sell the damn jetski to pay the bill :) :P ;D

He did have an EPIRB,

Just guessing but that might still be cheaper than a new JetSki.

How about giving him a concrete jetski?

Charge him the lot. Wankers dont deserve any tolerence.
Its wankers like this that make it hard for the genuine persons who need help.

These jet ski people seem to be a law unto themselves ,hopefully some form of regulation will be implemented to curb the problems they are creating.I see their antics when we head out thru the seaway ...its a wonder there is not more fatalities the way they carry on .US BOATIES ARE REGULATED PRETTY HEAVILY ...SO SHOULD THEY. ::) ::)
