Give me a Rod and the deep blue sea,
and a boat to do my thing,
where the only sound for miles around is the cry of a gull on the wing,
with a gentle breeze to stir the sea's and a prayer that the fish will bite,
may I fill the boat til it's barely afloat and a safe return before night.
I found this poem in an old fishing book and the old men of the sea use to say this prayer before heading out to get there catch, and when I think of what it means it is what we all want , a good days fishing but also a safe trip out and back in......
