3.406kg of new Ausfish member

at 530am today my first child was born, a boy named Kai (Kai means ocean in Japanese), and at 3.4kg i think he's a keeper - He is going to be an ausfish member and love fishing because god knows his only inheritance is going to be a couple of nice rods and a ton of lures, so keep an eye out for posts with username Kaipud in about 18 years time coz i know he will be floggin off my lures to pay for his college fees - cheers, pappa pud

Research suggests Kai be pronounced "sky" without the "s". I have a friend who named their little boy Kai and pronounces it that way. I love the name however it is pronounced.

Kai so many positive meanings across at least 10 languages. It is a strong name. In some languages it means the provider or source of food! In Hawaiian it means, the sea… strong and endless, peaceful and therapeutic. It is truly unique.
Congrats to Mumma and Papa Pud. I hope all are in good health.
My only advice, don't let him sell the lures, teach him to fish to catch enough to fund his college fees. Cheers!! ;)

well done. I'm sure you'll do everything in your power to help Kai learn the ropes.

Wehn Nicholas was born and I held him for the first time I said aloud what I was thinking (but didn't mean for everyon else to hear) "Hey he's about perfect size for Shark bait".

Fortunately his mom saw the lighter side, and for a while we called him sharkbait, tied in nicely with Nemo too.

A piece of advice - a lure (rapala, halco, etc) with the the trebles removed makes for a useful toy to inspire youngsters into fishing especially if you have a swimming pool and can watch it swim.

Congrats to you and the missus I hope you hav emany yeras of fun together as a family.
