Hi Guys.
I am planning a trip to the sand pumping jetty with 10 people who are blind / vision impaired. Some of these people have never been fishing at all. I am seeking volunteers to assist with gear ( rods, reels ) for the day. If Anyone can assist on the it will be greatly appreciated. It is anticipated that the day will be March 31st depending on the availability of the bus. We are hoping if the people enjoy the day, then it will become a regular event with them then being responsible to supply their own gear. If interested please pm me.
cheers
Joe.

Hi Joe,

This is a great idea. Just curious, what's your association with the group? Fill us in.

...."depending on the availability of a bus" What do you need Joe? # #

Hi Lone_ Wolf
The orgaisation is the Royal Blind Foundation. what is needed is help on the day, rigging, teaching people to bait, cast and hopefully take fish of the hook. Need entusiastic people prepared to teach and lend Rods and reels on this day.

Joe,

I would be there with bells on if it wasn't an airfare away, Please pm me if there is anything you can think of that I can contribute from afar. and in the mean time I have some ppl that are not ausfish members that may be available to come fish for the day.

Please feel free to pm me

Great idea mate, I remember being beaten by the blindies 3 years in a row playing cricket with the Royal Blind Society in NSW was a great day out for all involved.

Not good news, have sent Joe an e-mail at work as well. Thanks fishingnottaken for that.

Does anyone know of any long jetties around Bris? I am thinking maybe Woody Point or Shorncliffe. Does anyone know of others?

Imagine the fish available to LB fisherpeople if we had a jetty off eastern/southern Bribie :-/ :-/

the other thing i was thinking while out there was the gaps in the jetty mighta caused them an issue with their canes etc, we could try fishing off one of the gold coast fishing platforms?

thanks guys will look into it. was thinking of either the cascades, broadwater spit, or fishing platfoms as a plan B if weather let us down. will toss it around at the staff meeting this wednesday.
cheers
joe.
