Well it looks like it's Darwin's turn (again) for a cyclone. We had planned on a day of crabbing but by the latest info we are getting from the BOM site, we better spend the day roping everything down and getting all of the stuff from outside inside.

Wind speeds are 350kmh at the centre (200mph) :-/

Wave hights are up to 10mtrs (30feet) acording to the USN web site.

You wouldn't even know a cyclone is on it's way... the weather is fine (for now) and the wind is light. real calm before the storm sort of stuff. We sent some money to NQ after cyclone Larry gave them a flogging a few weeks ago... one just hopes we will not need the same after Tuesday. :-?

cheers

I feel for you guys up there, after just experiencing Larry and having my parents taking a direct hit in Innisfail and now starting with rebuilding things. Not a good feeling as my inlaws are still living up there in Darwin. Good luck with everything guys.

Good luck to all of you.

Spoke with my little bro at Nhulumby last night and is sounded like it was moving around the penisula and not hitting them directly. Hope it does the same to Darwin.

Thanks for your thoughts.. :)

All is still quite as we expected it would be. They tell us to expect strong winds in the am tomorrow :( there goes dawn service for 2006. The tracking map has it going about 5 kms south of my place :-/ :-/

I am stunned at how everyone is actually getting ready this time!! The last few cyclones people just didn't seem to care :o All of the servo's are out of gas bottles and the local shell has run out of ULP. oh well.

cheers and I will keep you posted on how things are going.

All well in Darwin. The rain is here though :-?

We will have a run off in the middle of the dry season ;D ;D ;D ;D

you could launch a punt in the front yard at the moment... no barra there but ;)

looks like our 340mm for the month of April might be more like 440mm by the end of this lot.

But we can live with that.

cheers
