Anyone got any good fishing myths to perpetuate or bust?

I'll kick things off - I've got a mate who reckons WD40 on bait improves his catch rate. ::)

Good luck,
Mike

There are no fish at 1770.

Fish only bite in a northerly.

Rename your boat after every trip.

Always take Bananas on the boat for snacks.

Bream love floodlights.

Never log on cause people will know where you are fishing.

Leave all lights and electronics on at night so others can see you.

6 knots is only for " other ' people.

No point in checking the bungs are in, they were last time.

The biggest boat has right of way at the ramp.

The BoM is always right with their forecast.

Everyone on board go to the same side of the boat to assist landing the fish.

and the most important:-

I have enough fishing gear !

::) ::) ::) ::) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Cheers Phill

contrary to belief, never trust a pelican to watch your catch while you get your trailer

we got enough repellant to keep mozzies away

our sinkers'll be big enough for the current

sharks go into a trance whilst on their back in the water

pike eels are dead once their head's cut off and been out for three hours

a bite from a flatty cant send you to hospital

that little hole in my castie wont matter

i should have enough line on my spool

a jack shouldnt bust a 60lb mono trace

braid is better

fastmantis catches huge jacks!

the list goes on. great responses here fellas, a good laugh.

the longest cast gets the biggest fish
also the bigger the rod the better the fish
big hooks gets big fishes
if your boat is bigger you got the right to do anything
the same spot will hold fish anytime just because you had a good session there

Un-policed bag limit regulations will educate "shamateurs" to change their ways.

A pro once told the more mullet he nets this year the thicker they will be next.
The sad part was I think he believed it.
