Guys, I've been reading a few posts about VMR memberships and am joining one fairly soon. Problem is, I am not sure if I should join one in particular. I generally fish the Northern Bay (Moreton) and usually use the boat ramp at Sandgate or Spinnaker at Bribie Island depending on where I am headed. Does it matter which one I join? I read marlinqld had some great info with this but nothing specific that I could find for my query.
I for one have no problems outlaying the money for the great service that these people do. About 10 years ago, I used to go out from Noosa a lot and always radioed the coast guard up there to announce whether heading out or coming back in. Touch wood I've never needed assistance and with the new boat and motor now, hope to God I never do but there may come a time when I do.
