Kingfish--- are the fins yellowish?
Taylor if it is more greenish looking.
Books for best identifying fish is the fishermans companion or Grants guide to fishes. Grants is expensive but well worth it for identifying fish.

It's a Tailor.

I think Aust Salmon have more speckle like colouring across the top.

It's greener cause it a Greenback (more mature) not a choppa (younger)

pic of Aust. Salmon

blaze

that pic of the aust salmon is of a juvenile fish, as they get bigger they go nearly black on there back (hence the name Blackback), I call the first pic a tailor. The tailor have more of a sheen to them than salmon (not that Ive caught many tailor) due to smaller scales. Yellow fin have the distintive yellow fins on all the pics ive seen.

It's a tailor for sure. Probably just a bit darker because it came out of the lake, and has been resident there for a while.

Blaze if I had of posted a large Aust. Salmon you wouldn't be able to see similarity that can be confussing, but totally agreed with you on the larger ones.

Brrbear!
That is a good tailor , one of the best I have seen!
Let the choppers go!
If we go back to the post of netting , choppers have no value at all.

I can tell you a story, of the first time I caught a big tailor . I started with three
gang hooks, and then four hooks , then five!.................... I got seven
gang hooks and putting the pilchrad on the lasted three hooks , I caught a tailor at 51cm.
I lost a lot of riggies that mornming , untill I worked out , that I was
dealing with big stuffl.
