Hi all, long time reader first time poster. Have been reading the post here for a few weeks now and would like to thank all members for shearing their tips, tricks and great stories.
I am now only a week away from owning my first boat and I'm almost jumping out of my skin. I have been fishing from land around Brisbane and the Gold Coast for about 3 years and have finally convinced the accountant (wife) that we should get a boat.
Went out with a friend on his boat on Sunday and fished around Mud Island, wanted to test out my new Penn combo from K-Mart for $130.00, started out with a couple of nice Whiting and one undersized Snapper. The new combo then began to scream and after a small fight up came a Wobbegong just over a meter (released). That was me I was as happy as a pig in you know what.
We then headed over to Harry Atkinson (I think that’s what it’s called) and produced a nice Parrot and a 53cm snapper. What a great day just makes the wait for the boat all that much harder.
Look forward to talking to you all. :)
