end of another Barra season

There goes the end of another barra season. Didnt get any this year though which sucked. If anybody caught any good barra's then post up the pictures if you got any.

is that a close season for breeding purposes?

If you fish stocked impoundments you can still fish for Barra.

Its the end of the season for breeding purposes. Opens back up on February 1st, 2007. I never caught a barra before and i was hoping that i would catch 1 this season but i had no luck.

This years season never really got going in central QLD because of the lack of rain and colder than normal water temps.

i take it you can still fish the open waters for bass/other species , but have to return any barra caught?
in uk ive only ever caught good size brown trout in the off seasons same with salmon too now i think of it! being a c and r fisherman it makes little odds to me , but like to know the where and why of it all

i caught a barra my first fish in cairns

but soon i will be HOPEFULLY going up north after sort stuff out to fish for one. ;)
