Algae on the Peninsula

First time ive posted a topic here so please bear with me. For the last few weeks there has been a stinkin algal bloom right around the Redcliffe Peninsula. I have seen this type of thing before but not up this far, mostly round the central coast of NSW. How have you guys found it affects the fishing, how long can i expect it to hang around, and should i just head further north?????

It's not just the peninsula, on Saturday I travelled through clumps of it all the way from Redcliffe to Bulwer. The sickly green colour and disgusting smell are enough to bring back breakfast in a hurry.

Never seen so much of it in the Northern Bay before

you can smell iton deception bay road the stink is that strong but it come around every so often need a good bit of rain
