I've found alot of boofheads put pots in at night at full tide; only to have them blown out of the water by pre-daylight boaties using the main channel to access their fishing grounds. No offence; but get your pots out of the way. GUNDOG

When you drop a trap put some weight half way down the rope this will stop the rope from floating on the surface when the tide drops. and if any boofhead that goes near your trap he is not going to hit your rope. you can use anything for weight. lead sheets wraped around the rope, sinkers, small pieces of brick etc.

run over in the main doonybrook channel

As Gundog said why put your pots in the main channel as this is asking for trouble - put em out of the way and you shouldn't have a problem ;)
