Howdy all,

Just wondering if anyone has/has access to and would be able to supply some cheap or free lead. Need some to make sinkers etc.

Hey, if you're game, ride a pushbike around Brizzy, you can pick up wheel weights off the road side. The bonus is that they have a higher tin content and make harder tailor lures for fishing off the rocks. Find a mate that works at a tyre outlet. ::) :-? bryne

I own a tyre shop and have unlimited lead. Willing to swap lead for some made sinkers. Have to pick up from the Sunshine Coast though. Offer goes out to anyone.

i used tyre weights awhile ago and they seem to be more problem than what its worth. The smoke is a killer and you need 2 pots so you can get the metal lug off them that holds onto the rims. But it's your call mate 8-)

If you see old houses being re-roofed, ask the roofer doing the work.

These houses are were always flashed off using lead sheeting. It was mostly good quality lead too.

They dont re-use it, as the new flashing is mostly alloys and lead free.

mate i am over in wynnum if you make me some sinkers i will supply the lead heaps of it ,i install lead on all the tile rooves for a couple of contractors.

bought lead today for 70 cents a kilo from metal merchant at Redcliffe 8-)tomorrow might be a sinker day

That's why I've started getting into it - something to do on the less than perfect weather days.
