weed guards...

Just wondering what others have in preference of weed guards..
single mono
double mono
Double wire
looped wire spring

I definately prefer the double mono's over the single, and find the double wire to be pretty good.

Or is there a better system out there..?

I've only tried double Mono weedguards. I use 20lb Mason.

Its easy to do and you can snip them off if you don't require them when you are out on the water.

me use double wire for SNAG/rock gaurd gets the bounce off effect going.

for weeds which I'm got at hehehehehe nah I use mono and double at that.

I have also used on gurglers a mono spring type one. Same as the metal spring one just made from 100lbish mono.

also used the ones like max showed, good idea but there was some thing this tosser didnt like.

We use the weed gaurd while in heavy cover right. Like I drive in to the lillies and cast from the middle of the patch. Well some times the fly lands on a lilly pad and the hook stick in due to the crash landing. where as if it was dragged across it would work but when whacked down on top no good. that is why I guess double mono works best for my type of fishing and that be for toga in da lilies.

All depends on the situation. I keep alot tied with double mono & just hack em off if needed.

I only ever use them if "absolutely" necessary. I hate missing fish because of them.
