I am in the market for a new 5wt fly rod. Checked out the loomis and sage range, but came across a scott USA made rod which i have not seen before. Took it out for a test at the shop and found it very comparable with the other two.A nice rod for small streams and rivers.
Has anyone know much about these?
The cost is around $550, which is considerably cheaper than the loomis and sage, and is very well made.Cost isn't the issue, as i want a quality rod.
All sounds too good to be true.
Any advice on this brand is welcome.
Thanks,
Dudley

Which Scott model is it? I would assume for the price that you mentioned it is probably the SAS series. Scott has a pretty good following here in the US. They roll their own blanks and handcraft the rods in Telluride Colorado. The are known for excellent quality and are regarded right up there with the Loomis', Sages, T&T's and Winston's.

Steve,
you are right , it is the sas scott.
Thanks for the info, as i have bought it. Got a good discount as i bought a hardy reel to go with it. Cost me about $225US. for the rod.
