these are darwin tips not noosa but about those thick head tarpoons none the less.

a bass vampire fly has worked quite well for me of late in brackish water up the back of eastarm here in my harbor. In the fresh billabongs white small crazy charlie/clowser types work main thing I worry about there is white. In the open water say about wharfs and that I get em more as by catch and on barra flies like pink things (a white baitfish anyhow).

when they are tailing then its normally the retrieve that gets em my way, they would hit an onion skin if it was ripped past em...

Good afternoon Murnan
We have developed a Tarpon fly for our local waters, that is now being called the Talon Tarpon Red and White, to-date it has tricked Tarpon from Ballina to Cairns, and uses a Talon Single Low Water Salmon hook to achieve its unique action.

This fly is best fished with a floating line and fluorcarbon leader to control it's depth, a 18 pound FC tippet, to reduce the chances of a cut off from their gill rackers or jaw.

The best time to fish for Tarpon, when the fruit bats start to fly.

If you contact me on :- talonaurora@dodo.net.au, I will send you a sample.
To any body else who would like to try out the TTRW, please feel to contact me and we will forward you a sample also, provided you pay the postage.

Kind regards
Barry Ryan

Hi,I fish KinKin crk and"between the lakes" a fair bit, Ive seen the Kinkin Tarpies in every mood from suicidal to dam fussy,,,,in this case, When the water is clear and you have found a school "rolling" use a lifelike "imatator". My 2 faves are Popavics Ultra shrimp and Tiny Polar fiber minows. If there active and hiting anything use a fly with an inverted hook, ie Clouser, Crazy Charlie(black and Olive are good). these dont get bit off as much 4 some reason. Matt Quinn
