Anyone got any thoughts on f/glass boats to be washed down with salt water only?
Have spoken to a few people lately that say fresh water is not good for glass boats.
Any thoughts? I know marine ply lasts longer if not in contact with fresh.

David,
I remember fishing with a guy who told me that only a F******* idiot would wash a glass boat with fresh water, but the last time I saw him he was doing just that. Says something I suppose.
I've been washing mine down for 20 odd years and have had no problems. Yet (touch wood).

Cheers.

Fibreglass shower cubicles, baths, laundry sinks, rain water tanks, etc etc etc,... think about it.
Fresh water will not hurt your boat.

I think it has something to do with the ply under floor, but I am not sure.

well you would not wash your car in salt water would you ? .if you are worried about rot from fresh water throw a couple of lumps of rock salt in where any water might collect.
cheers
