Furuno 600L, what are they like

Iv'e had a look around the sounder market, and in recent weeks have found out what are the dud's and what you get for your bucks. I would appreciate comments on the above sounder, yes I know that the 582 is better, but then so is the price. I'll be using it in the deeper parts of the bay and out from Stradie (300'+)

G'day Rob, I based my decision to buy a Furuno after looking at a 600 L. A member of our club has had one for a couple of years and cannot praise them enough.He fishes 10 fathoms to 55 fathoms.His is mounted on the dash of an older style Viking that has no canopy, it gets full sun and spray.He took out the club championship this year so it must work allright for him. Hope this helps.
