Hi have came across one of these boats and would like to buy at least something like this, but have had have no luck finding any info at all on them, they seem to have a hull shape and size a bit like Carribean, Cruisecraft etc so looks very capable. Anybody have any info at all on this boat, good or bad??? Nqcairns

nq my bro has known people who have owned kellercraft top performing hull, however serious bar work they tend to delaminate (spelling) but then it depends on what you want to use it for
cheers.

Thanks Jaybee for the info, aaahhh Grasshopper "Decay is inherent in all corporeal things." http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm1.gif
This particular boat is free from that luckily, one of the little perks associated with buying a boat this old is all the problems the boat will have because of poor manufacture will be evident, that problem has struck virtually all brands at some time (friday built boats)if it has not occured by year 12 or so it probably will not happen any more so than any other one. I will give the old girl a harder look over anyway. She has soft floor/transome and the stringers as a result will be dodgy, these things are easily handled with a bit of time and sweat.
It all makes me wonder where these modern glass/Composite boats will be in 20years? Time is running out to buy a 20+ year old boat to restore me thinks. Check out this site http://www.marinesurvey.com/yacht/material.htm Bit scary that site see also the damage caused to modern boats during a small storm. NQCairns

np nq, some pretty messy stuff on that page, my bro had an old savage pacific give it a canning over the bruns bar for years then one day it decided to come apart where the cab joined the bow, but you get that eh. guess boats are only as good as you treat them. I beleive the newer boats today use masonite in their floors, not like the older 1/2 inch marine ply. I like the older boats lot heavier and ride better imo.
cheers
