hi every one i have a problem someone might be able to solve. when my boat is in neutral and i spin the prope it makes a grinding noise. like it is half in gear. if you can help me pinpoint the problem and save some money on rip off mechanics. any help would be great http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm35.gif

Sounds like it may need a little bit of an adjustment to the linkage.
Should not cost to much at the mechanics, as it should only be a simple one and not require parts.
Where abouts are you? Someone may recomend a reliable mechanic.

I also think it needs adjustment on the gear selecter, but would also recomend changing the gearbox oil to see if there is any internal damage done (metal filings in the oil)

the oil has been changed and has no metal i live on the central coast

Hi donk, I am on the c/ coast as well and i have had good service dealing with danial at the boatshop in west st umina. He's a good bloke and seems to do the job. A few of my mates use him and they all seem happy. I have nothin to do with the business but don't mind puttin a bloke forward that's doin the righty by us.

I think the business is called Coast Wide Boating
