How do you find the ideal prop for a given motor? Can you improve on the manufacturers rec?

Give Solas Propellars a ring (Steve I think) and tell him what you have got (boat and motor) and what you are trying to achieve and he will be able to make a reccomendation. Can't find the number but it will probably be in the Bush'n'beach mag.

It's one that gives max WOT for this motor on this boat.

The correct prop to meet max WOT will generally give the best economy at normal operating revs. The first consideration is getting the top end of the rec rev range. Speed doesn't really come into the equation as it's heaps more important to get that max rpm capability.

Cheers, Kerry.
