Has anyone had anything to do with Navman sounders. Particularly the newer 4100-4200 series. They have some good practical features but I don't know about their on the water performance?

I have a fish 450 and a 500i gps and can't fault either of them. I'm looking at upgrading the gps to a Navman chartplotter shortly.

So you may have a GPS 500i coming up for sale in the future. Keep me in mind.

i own a navman fish 440 plus with temp and speed functions the only thing that hasn't gone wrong with it is the temp. it has been back to the manufacters 3 times and it works for about a month (about3-4 trips out in freshwater) and then it buggers up again. i am now looking at buying a lowrance sounder but don't know what to do with my old (buggered) navman sounder as it is now out of warranty. if you want to spend money on a sounder get a good quality one.

I also made the mistake of buying a navman 450. Had it back to the supplier three times in the first 12 months under warranty. It's now out of warranty and in my shed where it will stay.

I guess its like that with any sounder these days, my bro was telling me last night he has had a faultless 4 yrs from his navman. And I have had nothing but problems with my lowrance since it is out of warranty. see my post under sounder repairs. don't know about the sounders, but my bro had trouble with his navman gps, the marine shop said give us $90 and we will have a new one up here in 3 days under the 7 yr extended warranty, but it turned out to be corrosion in the plug. They fixed it for free. oh he has hooked up a fuso transducer thru the floor and reckons it gives a better reading ???
