just brought a second hand 5 mtr nova with a 85 horsie evinrude . have read some of the chat in the room and know i have gotr quite a few things to check out when i finaly got it home , But am not sure how long a marine engine could last even if it is well looked after not that i know if this one has been or not ( unless you own it from new i spose ) , but i also am wondering if moisture in the bow of a cuddy cab along with some dirt would mean anything significant . Now being the fact i am a first time boat owner i will listen to any advice from the long term boaty i can get cause i am hunting for cheap reliable parts to fit it out with being the previous owner pretty much stripped it ( bet wasn't mine then ) so any usefull advice on prodects for restoring the finish on the fibreglass and the shine and i like to know of a paint ( non-slip type for the floor ) cuase i hope to pick it up after the 7/7 and wanto to deck it out to my satisfaction so my ears are open

there are polishes for glass they work to some extent. try boat or outboard wreckers in the yellow pages.
near wyong nsw there is one called arizona outboards or ask a boat place. they would know.
non slip floors we added sand to some paint and put that down but iit was an old boat

if you put the word "marine" in front of any product the price always goes up. during the day dust settles on the walls of my half cab. then at night condensation forms and which trickels down onto the floor. hense the dirt and moisture. ulness you are find the moisture there after the boat being in the water.
