I need to decide on a fuel tank option for my new boat.

200 litre Fibreglass Tank
or
130 Aluminium Tank (capacity is not an issue)

Both tested. Boat will be in 2C Survey.

I know nothing of Fuel in Fibreglass and cannot find any information.

Looking forward to the informative replies that are common in this forum

G'day Alan,
Ethanol + Fibreglass = Oh Sh!t.
Can you be sure the regulations won't change, and ethanol becomes a standard ingredient in our fuel???
I'd stick to Alloy.

The fibreglass/materials that's fuel tanks are made from aren't the same stuff that boats are made of. Correctly made FG tanks shouldn't have an issue with ethanol?

Cheers, Kerry.

my mates bike had its tank replaced due to ethanol eating it away. the new one has a plastic blader in it.

Dont get caught out with the bladder fuel/water tanks either, they are only for diesel or water.
