my tinnie motor has this mark about half way up the leg from the cav plate, is this caused by exhaust and should the exhaust be replaced ,or ist all ok??

If it is whitish looking discolouration I woudn't be concerned they all do that. It seems to show up well on the dark grey.
I have had a few Yammies and they where the same.
The Merc I had didn't do it but that was about the only thing it did right.
Cheers Kev.

I have the same problem on my 40 4-stroke. Must be something in the paint. I've been told CLR will help get rid of it. Looks like a bit of oxidation of some sort.

Cheers, Clutter

next time you run the engine at home on the muffs,
have a feel around that area, might be heat related.
