Got a Johnson 125 72 model never had a spanner to the powerhead ever, compression near purfect no corrosion anywhere at all. It may have something to do with it being on a ski boat and therefore propped high it's whole life and never been used in salt when it was used once or twice a year. I thought I saw an older one on the back of blazes new rig?

a friend of mine has an old seagull motor i think.. its some 45+ odd years old.. only a 2 hp type job.. and no throttle or reverse.. you just start it and point it where you want to go, if you wanna reverse you turn the head right around.. and tough a prong to kill the spark

dnej, it will be soon-ish, I had budgeted $4000 to find a fair condition mid 90s model engine and stumbled on this old girl, I had a look at it out of curiosity and paid nearly nothing for it, it was a one owner one boat motor from near here, just one part of it wrecked is worth the purchase price but I want it to keep going at least until the novelty wears off then if possible sell it to someone who likes them.
Oh yeah the powerpack has been replaced and the waterpump was last replaced in 91 I was told, the motor was still used up to a few months ago, it still pumps fine but I will replace it before any maiden voyage. Cheers nq

Up until recently, mid Jan, had a 77 150hp straight six mercury, sat for 18 months and fired first start when it became a trade in for my new rig

My brother still has the 3.5 hp Seagull that the old man bought new for him in 1967. Never takes more than 3 tries to start. Not used now but he won't part with it.

The Fish is a hoax Photo - think it's been dicussed on this board before.

I thought I had the oldest Motor - 1974 Evinrude 70 - the original on my V169 Sportsmancraft Contessa. No trim & tilt, got to pull it up by hand. But starts every time and am just about to get on board and head out to PB reef again.

I'd love a new one - but as this one has never let me down, I hope it's going to be a while.

Cheers
Steve.

I've got a circa mid '50s Seagull that I did use regularly about 8 years ago but it still goes now.
