2.5 H.P for trolling

Hi ya all

Have just bought a new 2.5 merc for my 8 foot tinny (cartopper)

Is this unit o.k for trolling in lakes and impoundments, or would it be too fast

I think she'd be the ducks nuts. I've got a 4 on an 11 footer and I can go pretty slow on idle. Not as slow as an electric mind you.

You haven't said what sort of lures your fishing with or what species your targeting - that could have some impact.

Im thinking about fishing blue rock lake (near Moe) for bass and murray cod, but Im not sure what lures would be best for these fish.
