Chart Question

On various charts I have looked at the following abreviations appear,
f.gy.S.Sh
gy.s
G
w.S
G.M.S.Sh

Anyone know what they stand for or were I can find out what they mean?

From memory

fine.gray.sand.shells
gray.sand
gravel
white.sand (?? but white is normally wh)
gravel.mud.sand.shell

The IHO basically have set the standards for nautical chart symbols and abbreviations. There used to be a chart produced (Chart #1? I think it was called), which showed all the abbrev's used and meanings but not sure if this is still produced or not.
