I've been with Club Marine for the past few months. Seems pretty good and just $100 excess (except theft where no forced entry/trailer lock). Cheaper premium than RACQ for me as well.

Yeah Club Marine seems to be really good, not that i've had to use them at all. They seem a little slack with sending the free magazines though. hmmm... i spose thats only a minor thing.

My-Topender ,
The Club marine magazine isn't free , you have the option of paying an extra amount on top of you yearly premium for it .
In the past I have found them good to deal with ,give them a ring to sort out the problems in your receiving the Magazine .

Dont look at what you are covered for, but look for the page that shows you the exclusions. You will get a shock in some cases. Ask for a copy of the actual insurance policy, before signing up. One thing , forget the premium, buy the policy on its merrits.

The best thing I've found with Club Marine is the ability to nominate months for lay-up. Because of the eratic weather and other reasons that prevent the boat going on the water, I found I was paying to be covered on water when I wasn't using it. Now I pay for 12months lay-up and when I decide to go out I give them a call and pay the difference to be covered fully for that month. Saves me over $150 :o

I'm with Club Marine and have been for two years now. I found that I could understand what I was covered for and what not covered for in their policy. After reading Suncorp's and RACQ's policies I was still confused. The premium for Club Marine is pretty competitive and I deleted the magazine for a $29.70 saving as it mainly has articles for bigger boats than I am interested in (my old boat was 4.55m, the new one is 5.1m).

:) :)

Another small thing I've found with suncorp, if you are a member of a vmr or rescue group you get an other discount off your premiumn. I think the discount is a % worked out on the valve at which you insure your boat for. In most cases I think the actual discount would probably almost pay for the actual membership to join a vmr or rescue group.
