View Full Version : Glue to use for rod holders inside fibreglass

Had two goes now, one using locktite 201 and the other plain old contact cement.
Just above the floor on the inside wall of the fibreglass, I want to stick 3 rod holders on each side, just made out of pine, simple shape to hang the rods in. Do you think the bludgers will stick!!!! :-[
Any glue recommedations will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Give locktite 420 0r 425 a go, you wont budge them once it sets.

Yep! Sikaflex is the way to go.

Go the Sikaflex.If you use the correct one the only you'll get it back off is with piano wire.

Try sikaflex or 3m 4800 for a removable seal or the mother of all marine glues 3m 5200 fast set, it sticks like sh#t to a blanket and will take the gelcoat with it before it splits..nq
