Basic battery question

Hi all,
Battery went flat and has been on trickle charger for a coupla days. Anyone know how many volts should it be holding now after a day off the charger?

13.8 volts or there abouts

Anything from 12.7v onwards

Was all the cells bubbling when charging then about 12 to 13 volts if one or two was still you would be under 12volts. Roughly 2v per cell. 6 cells = 12 volts .Any thing under buy a new battery.

You cannot tell whether it is charged or not by reading the volts on a volt meter.
An almost flat battery will still show 12 volts. :P

Thats true. Buy a $ 2.50 hydrometer from supercheap.That will give you the goods on the condition of the battery.

or take it to a battery specialist and get it load tested
most places do it free
