What is the maximum weight we can put on the back of the haines hunter v146 we have? Complaince plate WAS 85hp but no max weight. Since then we beefed it up and lifted it 5 inches, so it is now much thicker at the transom as well as a lot bracing and struts (see pic). Rang Haines Hunter and they didn't know the weight for the back, but apparently found a brochure with the specs listed at 100hp, so it must carry a fair bit of weight.

So what is the maximum weight it could take? Any wild guesses?

Quite a few years back a mate of mine had a v146r haines with an old merc 150hp on the back of it. The merc was one of those really old inline 6 cylinder blue bands. The hull floated it fine but was very scarey at wot. The dam thing went like a cut snake. Maybe if you could find out the weight of these old mercs might give you some idea.
Best of luck
Ron

scarey what some people did with the hull :o. You hear plenty of tales of boats with 140s :-X
