Hi all

I'm trying to work out the weight of my 1989 Mustang 5.5m glass half cab with a 100 Merc on the back. Any rough ideas?

go to one of the public weigh stations that are around.
i had mine done, yearsago now, out at the quarry at Mt. Cotton.

My guess would be 1257.48kg's.

As mentioned, just a guess.

My Mustang 1800 (5.5m) went 1400kg on the trailer with full fuel load & safety gear on board.
It is a runabout though.

So the boat itself (not including the trailer) would be between 1200 - 1400kg. I'm just working out what size winch I should have, so about 2000Kkg should be about right.

My weight of 1400kg is boat, motor & trailer.
I would think that boat + motor would be around the 1100kg mark and the trailer would be around 350 to 400kg.
Cheers,
Mick

Drevil, you should only have to consider the rolling weight shouldn't you? I would expect that 2000kg would be more than ample.

Hey Buffalo, I was thinking about that yesterday, as most wiches I looked at online were less than 750kg. The winch on at the moment is 750kg whick I thought might be too small, but as you said, it's the rolling weight not the full wieght I need to consider. Maybe 750kg is enough. ???
