I am never sure when I sell a boat either Pete, but if you offered it for sale to start with it must be time to move on.
Cheers Kev. :)

thinking about a signature 540 ???
something i can handle myself and tow up the beach

yes .. they are costy looking at boat point last nite..
i will probably make my decission tomorrow going to have a look at the 540 and offer them a price..
not sure.. what sort of money would you think a 540 be worth..
hate paying the yards comm. for selling a boat for someone ????

Id have no idea what they'd be asking for a 540 pete, you must have had kelloggs for a while now, i seem to remember seeing it around for quite some time. you probly remember my old boat "barracuda" i used to leave out of scarborough a lot in it. heres a pick.

15 years approx.

the buyer just came out of the blue ????
i did have it for sale but of late i wasnt thinking about it.
the cat can sit in the shed as it doesnt cost me any thing to feed it.

i have done some sums if i was to repower the cat say with 115 2 s
approx 16k

to take the offer on the table and buy
another boat i would be putting this amount in also
its good to talk about it because it helps me to make
a decission and at this time i may have the cat a little longer
i cant feel sorry for him because he looked at the boat 5 weeks ago and made an offer
way below what i wanted.
and never let me know what was happening untill he attented the boat
show...and ring me

ps

the mind is not as good these days
but it looks a good boat how hard was it to sell it ???

its a hard one to say, but id rather be in the cat when a SE comes up then a 540,
plus 2 engines are better then one.
repowering is probly what id do, but if you
plan to do a lot of beach launching id prefer a plate boat say like gregs.
only because its more duriable on sand and gravel.

thats why i was looking at a 540 fibre. because of the weight for a better ride than the alum.
not really concern about the damage to the boat from launching.
provided i have some reds on board ??? ::)
i know the ride will be s*** but i only planned on one trip every 6 weeks :)
give d/tempest away :-/ when im finished i can get the geloat repaired ;D

Hey Snappa,
The 540F's are good, but i would'nt pay anymore than 26-28k privately. Youll expect to pay around 30-32k from a yard. They are a dime a dozen at the moment, everyone seems to be selling theirs (does that say something?)
Good Luck
Darren
