Looking for a new diesel motor for a 30 ft baycruiser. Mine shit itself so instead of replacing it with someone elses troubles i think ill put a new one in.
Might be nice to turn the key and it starts.
Need about 50+ hp in a 4cyl. seems too be a lot of choices out there.
Any info on what to look for or stay away from would be great. If anybody could recomend anybody for a good price please let me know

Powder. I have a 6.5lt chev in my suburban which is great ;D bit big I suppose. I have seen quite a few write ups on the 120 hp mercs. they are a 4cyl and are quite potent. Suppose they are a bit big? are you sure 50hp is enough or was that a typo?

Yes mate ,about 50hp. displacment hull so anything about 8 + 10 knots is fine.Old motor was rated at 53hp at 4000rpm. 33hp at 2800rpm.
Anything about 50hp at around 2800rpm would be better than i had.
THANKS REEL HARD.Do you know a dealer you would recommend ?
