what is a good bilge pump to purchase (my ol mate reckons a shit scared decky and a bucket) after one for a tinny 15ft

go with the deckie and the bucket, make them earn the rite of passage and ya dont need a battery.
On another note, I have seen the manual bilge pumps in action and they move a lot of water (another job for the deckie)

For compact size and pumping output I like the RULE pumps . Any pump is only as good as the wiring to it though . Don't go too light on the wiring on longer lengths .

Big fan of the Rule pumps but have also got a Pirahna that I use as a bait pump and I can't fault it. You can change the location at which the wires leave the pump which makes for a neater wiring job.
