Gearbox for Evinrude Motors

Hi Everyone,

A mate of mine has recently lost his sea legs due to the gearbox on his Evinrude seizing up. I think it's either a 20/25 hp.

Does anyone know of any boat/engine wreckers in the Bris metro area, or of any other way of getting hold of a replacement/reco gearbox without blowing a hole in the wallet.

Any other advice on this topic too (what to do/what not to do) would be helpful.

check the leg oil level every other month,
and change the oil yearly,
or seawater as might have been in his case.
