Who would have thought that the humble kill switch could be so much trouble?

Made with a nylon thread with a nylon nut holding it onto my 15 hp Tohatsu, It was i thought a simple process of replacing the nylon nut when it eventually surcumbed to the pressure, but think again! What do they tell me at my local Boat shop?

They don't supply just the nut, you have to buy the complete kill switch for $90. Eventually went to the local Plumbers, and bought 2 brass nuts for a total of $3 and didn't have to buy a tap and a kitchen sink to go with it.

Lesson! Improvise. Tezza.

Same thing happened with the light switch on my Commodore. Had to buy the whole console to fix one broken plastic bit.

However a bit of twine and a lot of swearing saved me $250...

The dipper switch on my motorcycle snapped off, I just saved $150 by drilling a hole in the broken press button and used a self tapper to screw it back on. 5 minutes and less than a 10 cents, it took me longer and cost more just to price the new part.
