Horsepower on Minn Kota RT55AP

The lovely consultants at Suncorp refuse to insure my new electric unless I can give them the horsepower of the RT55!

Does anyone know what these motors are rated at, or know how to convert 55lbs thrust into horsepower?

Rough guess #:o 0.56 HP

55lb draws around 35amps

How To Convert Electric Motor Amperage To Horsepower.

Electric motor amperage draw can converted to horsepower figures by taking the maximum amperage draw times (X) the battery voltage. The resultant figure is the maximum wattage that can be used. (32 amps X12 volt = 384 watts) Divide the wattage by 746 and you have the horsepower (384 watts divided by 746 = .51 horsepower.)
