I bought her in Sydney off ebay . The guy did not put a photo up so I emailed him and he sent them . He had no interest from ebay except me. Got a m8n to check it out and went down and picked her up.
Been varnishing for 2 weeks now and just waiting for the gunnell rubber and will..... fingers crossed be good to go this weekend.

I've got an original 1954 Dehaviland Topper made by the Dehaviland Aircraft Company.

I bought it off the son of the original owner - the son was nearing 60 #;D

Do you know the age?
Looks like a boat my granddad had when I was a kid (but it was a lot smaller with a 6hp johno) but he caught more big fish then most at Ballina in the 50's and 60's

im guessing 70s only because of the 173 holden.
no plates or dates anywhere , but jezz here was a lot of work put into her.

Hi imagineer
Possible even earlier because there was a lot of the old grey motors used in them old girls and the stud patern is the same for the later red motor
138 to 173, what a hp upgrade
could be you have a 1950 something vintage
cheers

wow that would be cool is there any way I can use the id number on the plate to get a date??

the grey would have been slow.
as it is the red is great with a couple of people but starts to drop with 3 or 4. that v8 will be a major upgrade.

Thanks for the comments all appreciated

202
350 holley
change cam shaft
trouble with a V8 is extra weight, no changes needed to go to 202

yip did cross my mind are there no mods needed??

blaze

shoud just bolt straight in
engine mounts the same
exhaust/inlet all the same side, maybe bigger exhaust outlet, not many mods to fit the holley (would want an adjustable main jet for ease of setting up)
Mounting to stern drive the same.
Not sure on how its set up but I would think that it would bolt up with very little trouble because the 173 and 202 are esencially the same motor

So ;) what's all the power for, why not something like a ford prefect engine ??? much better match for the era ;D

Anyway nothing wrong with ford prefect engines, all 10 horses :D

Cheers, Kerry.
