My Fisher is now a reality. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Had a look this morning and it's a hull with rib structures etc. The work starts on the casting deck and live well this week. Next will be the rod locker, sounder fit and and then all the bits. It's like someone has chopped one of my arms off not having a boat for this long. Will post some pics shortly.
Look out them Tunas come Feb. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Dave,
I think Lucky Phil saw your old boat at Hervey Bay last week.
A hornet with Jack Lives Here on it with Ausfish stickers.
Who did you sell it to. Looks like the lure of the wider grounds saw you upgrade mate.

Dave,
Which model Fisher are you getting ?
Had a good close look at them 18 months ago when I was in the market for a new rig, since then they have been multiplying like rabbits.
Superb boats that many will attest too.

Hey Brett - fella I work with bought my old rig. He hails from the HB area originally so more than likely it was him. Put more dings and scratches in it in 6 months than I did in 2 years. Definitely the bluer stuff is calling but as with most it's a trade off because I still want to do my creek luring and fly work. Big casting deck up front for the lure and fly work with a big live well ( 800mm x 400mm x 400mm) under it. A 74lb Minn Kota for the front also. 80 litres of go go juice under the floor with a 60hp 4 stroke Yammy. Laid out the bucks and bought a Furuno 600 colour sounder for it - should be useful for the deeper work. Keep an eye out for FLY'S EYES in early February.
Craige - went a 4.5m tiller. Was restricted to OAL with the garage and all. Boat on trailer is just shy of 6m. Having it modifed to a fly friendly boat. Build time is longer than other plate manufacturers but the quality is magnificent. I am very glad I waited. It's costing me only marginally more than it would have to replace it with another Hornet AND I'm getting a plate boat to my build spec. HAPY DAYS#;D ;D ;D

Sounds nice mate,
You'll be out there for the big longtail run in March-April.
Bloody flyfishers - I dunno build their whole bloody boat around standing up the front and waving around madly ;D
By the way - have you been down to deepwater recently. I was hoping to go down there in Jan/Feb

Fly's Eyes hey.... ::) I feel ill
I'll be keen to see the finished product dave, so let me know if you need a decky one day.
Speaking of Deepwater, I was down that way over the weekend and did the toughest gorge walk of my life. Fished a new spot further downstream towards the dam. All up for saturday and sunday morn we walked about 32kms by the gps, and when you take into account changes in gradient and our inability to walk straight through rock, god knows how far we walked, climbed, slid, fell...I don't know what it is about cod, they make me do some crazy things. Ended up with 18 fish. They were pretty timid, lots of bumps and kisses between fish - maybe a combo of the dirty water and howling south-easter all weekend.

Will give you a yell when she's ready.
Yep them greenfish will do that to you. I fished a gorge in the Tenterfield area for 1 hit each BUT they were big fish. Took us 5 hours to walk 7km - not a spot to fall and bust a knee or something. Always seem to rip the arse out of at least one pair of pants on those type of trips. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Yeh Tony. Plenty of thought and planning before building. Col has been excellent with advice and ideas. I made sure picked the brains of everyone I could and refined it from there. Hoping for a balance between my fly and lure work and allso close offshore stuff. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
Should be off for paint next week. ;D

Rian at Belco recommended it be done that way - best for plate boats on rough roads. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

i see the way they did the plate for the electric motor.. im suprised they didnt do it as a box section so it ties in with the look of the boat.. not just a piece of alloy sticking out.. still.. bloody nice lookin boat there Dave..
