I have a 6m centre console boat with a 90HP Honda

The place who sold the package fitted wedges.

After a few hull problems the hull manufactures say the wedges are causing the problems.

The boat supplier says the boat needs wedges fitted.

Why do they fit wegdes ?

I understand the only reason is to gain -ve trim. Some transoms are too vertical so the wedges fit between engine and transom to create some slope. Could you not trim the nose down enough with the standard transom angle and that make of engine?.nq

G'day Al, The wedge is so the motor can be trimmed in further. At a guess, does the boat porpoise? If the wedge is too big and you trim the motor all the way in it might have a tendency to broach (you don't want that). Fitting a foil might help, but trim tabs will be better. Trim tabs can make a problem hull into an awesome boat.

Hope this helps.....Shawn.
