Hi Noha,

From my limited knowledge of outboards, I have been told that the new E-TEC's are basically the old FICHT's repackaged. Although they had a lot of problems and warranty claims, I believe the ram injection concept was good.

The E-tec is not a ficht it is a totaly new animal.
They are a great motor. Do a search on this site and should find heaps of info on E-tec and what people think.

Good luck .

I have a 75Hp

I have read nothin but good reports on the ETECs. Just a shame they dont make them in 115hp as I would consider them for my next repower.

Cheers

I am looking at upgrading my Boat, and in august of this year i am told there will be a 115Hp E-tech launched at the Miama Boat show in USA. If it goes like the smaller E-tecs they hit the Aussie market before the USA got there Quota. ;D

Are they available in 15 hp? I checked the website and they were only in big sizes not small?
Thanks, Mark.

I have a 75 and up to now all very good [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Great fuel economy, very quiet, starts instantly, no smoke, plus a couple of other nice things like a flushing port (don't need to run the engine to flush the motor - neighbours like that) and a trailering bracket mount...
