Can anyone provide feedback on either of these two engines. I have spoken to the dealers and obviously they both are recommending theirs over the other.

So can any of you guys provide some feedback?!?!

A mate just got a 250hp Suzuki, and LOVES it.
Got to say from what I have heard so far they are very very good.
The were recommended to the by their mechanic that has as they say
" Has Yamaha in his blood "

Or should I say had as he has just become a Suzuki Dealer???

Mate the 115 yammy is one of the best and most reliable engines around.
Unless you have no choice the 115 suzuki is rarely used, most buy the 140 as its lighter, not much more in price and is more powerful, your call!...foxy

have the suzi 115 and very happy with it - am sure the yammy is probably just as good (though slightly more exxy ;)) the suzi 140 is around 2k more and 2.5kg lighter therefore really depends on budget and power requirements. I was at top of my budget but if I had any cash left over would have probably spent it on hydraulic steering which is well worth a look in this power range and above

PS one thing of difference to note is 1740cc (yammy) vs 1950cc (suzi) displacement ie all things being equal more torque at equivalent rpm for suzuki (theoretically)

I don't want to denigrate this forum but if you check this US based forum http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi make a posting on the Yamaha/Suzuki subject and you'll attract the attention of a guy known as "rodbolt". This guy is a one man encyclopaedia about these motors.

What about the 115 Merc Opti ??? 280 hrs in 13 months and still running a treat.
Very economical in comparison to 4 bangers.

Cant comment on the suzi, but I did have a yamy 115hp 4 banger, ran up over 1600hrs in two years, it never missed a beat and is still going strong today. It is just over 5 years old now.
