trim tabs

has anyone had trouble with trim tabs incorrectly fitted.
what is the correct way of installation.
the last lot i had fitted would spray the motor while on the plane with the tabs up.

The tabs should be installed approx 1/4 inch above the transom hull so when fully retracted are clear of the water. What sort have so got - the bennet m20 tabs have a downturned side that can produce extra spray in some circumstances.
