boat Iam looking at has the above motor on it, supposedly they are made in the same factory as Mercury ? How good are these motors as I havent seen too many getting around. Anyone had good / bad reports ?

Yamy block and internals with merc EFI and electronics. Not sure if yamy or merc gearbox.

The powerhead is yamaha, the fuel system and gearbox are mercury, should be a good donk sean.

There exactly the same as a Merc, i'm not sure about the 115 but the smaller 4st motors have Yamaha power heads and Merc legs, assembled in Japan. I was in Karee Marine last week and while I was waiting was reading the motor boxs and all the Merc / Mariner 4st's I looked at had assembled in Japan on the boxes.

I've got a 60 Merc 4st, which has a Mariner Cowling on it, there was a story attached to that, but not sure of it's validity. ??? ??? ???
